R SizesDue to the many varying formats of originals, we use R Sizes on some services. The definition of R Size is as follows: The digit (4,5,6,8,10) indicates the shortest side of the print in inches. The R, abbreviated from the word Rectangular, indicates longest side, which is unknown, due to varying image formats. For example, a 4R from a 35mm is a 4x6” print. This means if its printed to 4” on the shorted side, the longest side will fall out to 6”, which is its varying rectangular length. By default, we print your entire image without cropping (FULL FRAME). In other words we will print your image as big as we can within the paper or R size ordered. The chart below shows print sizes to expect from different formats.
